Two Guinean nationals caught with fake Luxemburg residence documents at Ercan airport, to stay one month in prison

Two foreigners who tried to leave the TRNC via Ercan Airport with fake Luxemburg residence documents were arrested.

The suspects who came to the island as students and identified only N.K and A.B, were arrested at Ercan Airport at about 7:50am on Tuesday, April, 13, 2021 as they tried to exit the TRNC with a Luxemburg residence documents with serial numbers 592170235 and 230361933 issued in their name.

They were take to court on on Wednesday on charges of "editing forged documents", "putting fake documents into circulation", and "attempting to obtain a record with false behavior."

According to report, the suspects came to the country with pre-registration as students but did not handle the course registration and immigration procedures.

The suspects who took the floor in court stated that they did not know that the documents were fake adding that a person in Guinea had deceived them.

They also received money from us, we did not know that the documents were fake. They said that the diploma in Northern Cyprus is not valid abroad and that we will enroll in a school in Barcelona and they received money from us again. For this reason, we did not register for students and immigration ”.

Court judge who evaluated the testimony given in her presence, ordered the suspects to be sent to the Central Prison for a period of not more than 1 month in order to be ready in the cases to be discussed in the future.
