TRNC government extends night time curfew by one week until May, 1, 2021

The TRNC government has extended night time curfew by one week until May, 1, 2021 while weddings, engagements and circumcisions can hold from May 27, 2021.

The new decisions in accordance with the recommendations of the Higher Committee for Infectious Diseases were announced by Prime Minister Ersin Sarner following a meeting of the Council of Ministers on Thursday.

-By the new decisions, night-time curfew will remain in place between 9:00pm and 5:00am from Monday, April, 26 to Monday, May, 1, 2021 except on Sundays, when a total lockdown will be imposed.

-Markets will open for service between 7:00am and 8:00pm during week days.

-Restaurants, cafes and eateries will be allowed to open between 10:00am and 8:30pm.  

-On Saturdays, restaurants, cafes, patisseries, barbers, hairdressers, taverns, clubs, indoor sports halls, retail stores can open until 6:00pm.

-Sectors that will continue their activities will have to shorten their working hours on Saturdays and an obliged to close at 6:00pm.

-On Sundays, all businesses and activities will be closed, except for pharmacies, bakeries, gas stations and agriculture, animal husbandry and related industrial enterprises. Only take-away services of restaurants, cafes, patisseries and taverns will be open.

-In open businesses, an arrangement will be made so that the total of customers and employees will be 1 person in a maximum of 5 m2. In order to protect the social distance, these enterprises will place a notice on the entrances of the enterprises regarding the m2 areas and how many people can be in the enterprise, including employees.

-Engagement, wedding, wedding, circumcision ceremonies can be held in open area within the framework of the rules specified in the commitment letter to be prepared in case a contrary decision is not made according to the number of cases will be held as of May 27, 2021.

-Actions, rallies and ceremonies planned to be held in open areas can be held with a maximum of 50 people.

- Birthdays, engagements, parties, picnics, etc. activities will not be held in open and closed areas. All kinds of socializing activities in the house will be limited to a maximum of 10 people. If it is determined otherwise, necessary legal action will be initiated.

- Indoor sports halls (fitness, individual) will be able to continue their activities within the framework of the conditions specified in the letter of undertaking. People working in gyms will repeat PCR tests every seven days. These halls will be able to start serving from 6:00am.  

-Dance schools, music and similar school and course activities will not be held.

Closed Places;  
- Movie theaters, engagement-wedding halls, birthdays, mevlids, casinos, bars, taverns, hookah cafes and halls, all kinds of game halls, indoor playgrounds, internet cafes, massage rooms, spa, restaurants serving open buffets, night clubs, club, Turkish bath, saunas.  

Open Places;  
All public institutions and organizations will continue to work in their normal working order within the framework of pandemic rules.
