Student in jail for trying to kiss his girlfriend without her consent in a dorm in Famagusta

A student will stay in prison for 45 days after he was arrested for trying to kiss his girl friend without her consent her dorm in Famagusta.

The incident happened at about 12:30am on Sunday, April, 11, 2021.

The suspect on the day, reportedly pushed his girlfriend into the bed in her dorm room in a university campus in Famagusta and tried to kiss her without her consent.

Police said the complaint had told the suspect to leave her room which he refused to.

The suspect was arrested following a complaint by his girlfriend and taken to a court in Famagusta on charges of sexual assault, rape and assault.

He was jailed for 3 days after appearing in court. 

On his second court appearance on Thursday, April, 15, he was released on bail by the court but since he could not meet the bail condition of 10,000 TL, he was sent to jail for a period not exceeding 45 days until trial.
