29 foreign nationals busted in a birth day party in Gönyeli

At a time when gathering and late night movement is prohibited across northern Cyprus, some people choose to ignore and instead attend a party.

29 people including 9 females and 20 males were arrested and detained after police raided a villa in Gönyeli at about 8:30pm on Tuesday.

According to report, all detainees who are students in the island had attended a birthday party in the villa.

Police said a substance believed to be a drug was found on one of the detainees, a 27-year-old. The person in question has been arrested and the investigation into the incident is ongoing

Legal action was initiated against the person who hosted the party.
