26 people arrested in Lefkosa on Sunday for not observing lockdown rules
At least 26 people were identified and arrested in Lefkosa on Sunday for not observing lockdown rules.
The control was carried out between 12:00pm and 6:00am on Sunday.
The arrests in Lefkosa were made within the scope of the measures taken by the Lefkosa Police Directorate and the Lefkosa District Governorship, the Council of Ministers and the Supreme Council of Health due to the Covid-19 epidemic.
Legal action was taken against a total of 26 people who were found to have violated the curfew.
Lefkosa District Governor Bora Akkuş emphasized that these controls will continue for the health and peace of Lefkosa and the people of the region.
During the controls, a 23-year-old male was caught with 2grams of a substance believed to be cannabis type drug at about 1:45pm in Gönyeli.
Legal action was also taken against a driver driving dangerous and a person without a residence permit.
