TRNC to start domestic tourism by April
The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus plan to start domestic tourism in April. This was made known by the Minister of Health in an announcement on Monday.
Minister of Health, Ünal Üstel on Monday said that the government’s plan was to start domestic tourism in April.
We will first start with domestic tourism. Then we will start accepting tourists from abroad with proof of vaccination and finally, we will allow tourists to come with double PCR tests. However our focus is to start domestic tourism in April, Üstel said.
The health minister also urged the public to continue to adhere to COVID-19 measures.
People should continue to be sensitive on social distancing, wearing masks and practising stricter hygiene, he added.
Üstel also said the government was planning to introduce stricter penalties and higher fines for those who flouted the rules.
Touching upon plans to introduce home-isolation or quarantine, Minister Üstel said that work on the electronic bracelet monitoring system was near completion and would be ready by the beginning of April.
