TRNC government announces new decisions, night time curfew continues, gym to open and full lockdown on Sunday
The government of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has decided to impose a daily curfew from 9:00pm to 5:00am everyday except on Sundays.
The new decisions was announced by Prime Minister, Ersan Saner on Friday evening following a meeting of the Council of Ministers.
Curfew will continue from 9:00pm to 5:00am everyday of the week except on Sunday where there will be a full lock down.
Restaurants and cafes will continue to offer out outdoor delivery service while betting offices and fitness centers will be allowed to open from Wednesday, March, 24.
The Council of Ministers took the following revised decisions within the framework of the evaluation made by the Contagious Diseases Supreme Committee based on the gradual opening decisions taken earlier.
The decisions are as follows:
-Curfew will be imposed from 9:00pm to 5:00am every day, except Sunday.
-Only pharmacies, bakeries, agricultural and livestock businesses and gas stations will be opened on Sunday.
-From Monday to Saturday, markets will be open between 8:00am and 8:00pm.
-Retail and merchandising services, restaurants and all services / sectors that are not specified as closed will serve between 10:00am and 8:00pm.
-Restaurants, bakeries, cafes and taverns will be able to continue their outdoor seating services in addition to delivery services. They will be able to continue their activities in accordance with the external social distance rules.
-Those working in Bet offices and indoor sport hall will be screened for coronavirus until Wednesday, March, 24.
-In order to kick start tourism in the country, the country as from April 12 will apply the wristband application to start a 3-day indoor hotel tourism. In addition, studies have been initiated to open the remaining tourism sector by scheduling.
-It was deemed appropriate for performance artists such as professional theater and concert to do their work / rehearsal individually.
Closed Places;
-Cinema halls, show centers, engagement-wedding halls, birthdays, mawlites, casinos, bars, taverns, hookah cafes and halls, internet cafes, all kinds of game halls, indoor children's playgrounds, massage rooms, spa, open buffet services restaurants, night clubs, club, Turkish bath, saunas.
Open Places;
All businesses and activities that are not stated implicitly can be open under the conditions stated below.
Decisions Taken;
1. Since the prevalence of infection is lower in Lefke-Güzelyurt-İskele-Famagusta districts and in order to prevent the spread of infection to these districts, it has been deemed appropriate that the movement from Lefkosa and Girne districts to the above-mentioned districts are controlled by the District Police Boards.
Regarding public transportation;
- In Lefke and Güzelyurt districts, transportation will be available within the district and between two districts.
- In Ä°skele and Famagusta districts, transportation will be possible within the district and between two districts.
- There will be no passenger transportation between Lefkosa and Girne districts. Only in-district passenger transportation will be available in Lekkosa and Girne districts.
- Transporting passengers by taxi from Girne and Lefkosa districts to other districts with movement control (Lefke, Güzelyurt, İskele, Famagusta) will be subject to permission, and buses, minibuses and minibuses will not be transported to these districts from Kyrenia and Nicosia districts.
Bus, minibus, taxi etc. Passengers will not be admitted to the driver's side of the vehicles engaged in transportation. In buses, minibuses and minibuses, passengers will be transported with a seating arrangement so that one of the back seats of the driver's seat is empty and 50% capacity will be operated with one empty and one full.
