Nigerian attacked, extorted and held against his consent by unknown persons
One person was arrested and detained in Famagusta for robbery and enforced detention while other suspects related to the incident are wanted.
According to police the incident happened on Sunday, February, 28 when a 27-year-old and unknown persons accompanying him battered a Nigerian in his residence, and took away a laptop and two mobile phones.
It was determined that after the extortion, they made a transfer of 1990 TL from the victim's account to another account belonging to a person.
The same people, on Monday, March 1, made the victim come to another address and then forcibly detained him against his consent, and also made a transfer of 1400 TL and 100,000 Nigerian Naira (equivalent to 1923 TL) to another person's account. They told him they will harm him if he goes to the police.
One of them was detected and arrested in the investigation carried out upon the information of the incident to the police, and other suspects are being sought.
