Weekend lockdown come into force in TRNC

In line with the decision taken by the Council of Ministers last week, there will be a full lock-down during the weekend with restricted movement across the TRNC.

Accordingly, it will be forbidden to go out on the street from 8:00pm on Friday, February, 26 to 5:00am Monday, March, 1.

On Saturday, all businesses and activities will be closed except for markets, bakeries, butchers, greengrocers, gas stations, pharmacies, agriculture, livestock and related industrial enterprises.

On Saturday, residents will only be able to leave their house for essential needs and for a short time. 

On Sundays, all businesses and activities will be closed, except for pharmacies and bakeries.

New measures are expected to be announced by Monday.
