Nigerian hospitalized in Famagusta hospital dies

A Nigerian who was being treated at the intensive care unit of the Famagusta State Hospital reportedly passed away on Thursday.

The Nigerian, identified as Imoleayo Temitope Atere, was hospitalized at the intensive care unit of the Famagusta State Hospital, Famagusta since January, 2.

He passed away on Thursday, police report said.

According to a statement released by the police, Imoleayo Temitope was taken to the hospital on January, 2 after developing some problem described as "food aspiration, closure of the respiratory tract" while he was eating in his residence in Famagusta.

The report said he could not be saved despite all interventions.
