2 Deaths and 17 new cases of coronavirus reported in TRNC on Sunday, 16 are local cases
17 new cases of Covid-19 and two deaths were reported in Northern Cyprus on Sunday which brings the total number of cases there so far to 3,054 and deaths to 19.
5,033 tests were carried out in the last 24 hours and 17 new cases were confirmed.
1 of the cases came in contact with a previous case who is under surveillance, and 16 were local cases.
Of the cases, 11 were from Lefkosa, 5 from Kyrenia and 1 from Famagusta.
Two people, a 67-year-old man and a 58-year-old man who were being treated for the virus at the intensive care unit passed away on Sunday.
The 67-year-old suffered from hypertension and had been treated since January, 31 while the 58-year-oldsuffered from coronary artery disease and has been receiving treatment since February 2.
55 people were discharged from the hospital after completing treatment.
