Two students found dead in an apartment in Gönyeli

Two foreign nationals were found dead in their residences in Gönyeli early Thursday morning.

The two foreigners from Africa identified as 34-year-old Abdoulaye YANSANE and 30-year-old Bangaly CONTE were found dead in their Zorlu apartment in Gönyeli early this morning.

Forensic Branch teams from Lefkosa Police Directorate and Crime Scene Investigation experts made detailed investigations at the scene.

Police say they were found dead at about 11:30pm on Wednesday, December, 23.

No traces of assault or force were found during the external examination of the bodies of the aforementioned persons.

They are thought to have died 3-4 days ago.

It is believed that the victims, who are university students lost their lives due to carbon monoxide poisoning.

It was determined that coal was burned in the room where the incident took place in order to warm up.

An autopsy will be held today to determine the cause of death.

The investigation is ongoing.
