TRNC government introduces 5 days partial curfew
TRNC government on Wednesday announced new stricter measures to curb the spread of coronavirus in the country following a rise in virus cases.
The government decision impose a curfew between Thursday, December, 31 and Monday, January 4, (including both dates) from 10:00pm to 5:00am. It has also been decided that between December 31 and January 3 (both dates included) no more than 10 people can gather in each household.
In addition to banning events and all kinds of entertainment activities in open and closed areas for the New Year, it was decided that all events such as weddings, cinema, theater, birthdays, religious services, engagements, exhibitions etc. will be suspended until January 3.
Health workers, law enforcement officers and those on official duty will be exempt from this practice.
Also, the mandatory quarantine requirement for all individuals entering the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has been extended to January 31, 2021.
