Maid ‘mixed her menstrual blood’ and urine into family food
A maid allegedly mixed her urine and menstrual blood into a family’s food.
Canares Rowena Ola, who is from the Philippines but lives in Sengkang, Singapore, has been charged with mischief, the Straits Times reported.
The 43-year-old faces up to a year in jail and a fine if convicted.
Cops expected her to plead guilty but she is now challenging the charge. She allegedly tainted the food in December 2018. It is not known how she is linked to the alleged victims.
The family ate the food and no DNA testing was done.
Her lawyer Kalaithasan Karuppaya said Ms Ola intended to dispute the allegation.
She’s disputing that such a thing happened. She never committed this offence, he told Channel News Asia.
A pre-trial hearing will be held on January 25.
In January, an Indonesian maid working in Punggol, Singapore was jailed for six months for mixing her urine, saliva and menstrual blood into drinking water and rice.
The family she was working for consumed the tainted food and drink.
