Illegal resident in TRNC battered housemate and damaged household items because of food

A man reportedly got angry, battered his housemate and damaged several household items at their apartment in Karaoğlanoğlu because he did not cook.

The suspect only identified as B.T, committed the act on Tuesday, December, 22.

He was arrested and taken to court for crimes of "Intentional Damage and for living in the TRNC without a Residence Permit". 

Police noted that the suspect severely battered his roommates on various parts of his body by hitting his hands and feet on the grounds because he did not cook.

The police said he damaged properties worth 21,833 TL including 5 street lighting lamps, 1 working chair inside the building entrance door, 1 TV remote, TV receiver, double glazing at the bottom of the stairway and a window made of PVC.

Police said the suspect was arrested in accordance with a pending order received upon the information of the incident and that it was determined that he has been living in the TRNC illegally since September 2019.

Police stated that the suspect gave a voluntarily statement while what he was doing during his stay in the country will be investigated.
