Man raped, battered girlfriend in student dormitory in Girne

A man who reportedly battered and raped his girlfriend twice in a private student dormitory in Girne has been arrested.

The suspect only identified as S.T reportedly battered his girlfriend in a private student dormitory on November, 11, 2020 where he also raped her twice

He was arrested on Tuesday and taken to court on charges of serious assault and rape crimes.

Police prosecutor told the court that the suspect pulled his girlfriend by her hair, slapped in the face, battered and raped her.

Police said that the suspect was taken into custody upon the complaint, and the complainant was checked by a doctor and a blood and nail sample was taken.  

The suspect accepted the crime of battering. He was released without arrest by the court with guarantee.
