Students, TRNC citizens and workers exempted from quarantine accommodation fees
All TRNC citizens, students and those with working or permanent residency permits in the country will be exempted from paying quarantine fees.
The new decision was made by the TRNC Council of Ministers on Friday.
Individuals who fall into any one of these categories will also not have to pay for their PCR tests as the cost of their tests and accommodation will be covered by the state.
Previously, all arrivals, irrespective of their nationality or purpose of visit were required to shoulder the cost of PCR tests and accommodation during mandatory quarantine. However, those who are not TRNC citizens, students, working or residing permanently in the country will be covering the cost of their PCR tests and accommodation during their mandatory quarantine in designated facilities.
Earlier this week, the Council of Ministers decided to extend compulsory quarantine for all arrivals by air until October 1, inclusive.
On arrival, those coming from category B countries will be quarantined for seven days and those from category C for 14 days.
All arriving passengers need to provide negative PCR tests no older than 120 hours and will also be tested a second time upon arrival. The PCR test must be repeated at the end of the quarantine for both categories.
Fees Can Be Refunded
The Council of Ministers also decided that the fees paid from September 7, will be refunded to those eligible upon request.
