TRNC start ramdom testings for COVID-19
The TRNC Health Ministry has begun random testing for COVID-19, prompted by the increase in the number of local cases with the first in the Lefkoşa Industrial area and some
businesses in the Sarayönü area.
Minister of Health, Ali Pilli on Wednesday said that several local cases had been detected in the last couple of days.
Explaining that precautionary measures were continuing to be taken against the pandemic, he called on the public to fulfil their part.
He warned that legal action will be taken against those who do not comply with the rules.
Minister Pilli also said that they had prepared well for the upcoming winter months but called on the public to do their part by avoiding large crowds and taking precautionary measures.
Meanwhile, the TRNC health ministry has carried out a research on the population’s immunity levels.
According to the research carried out on 1620 people, 0.2 per cent of the general population have antibodies against COVID-19.
A statement said that the fact that an individual has antibodies does not mean that he or she has developed immunity indefinitely.

Minister of Health, Ali Pilli on Wednesday said that several local cases had been detected in the last couple of days.
We will be testing TRNC citizens who work in the south and in the coming days we will focus our testing on people who have recently arrived from Turkey, said Pilli.
Explaining that precautionary measures were continuing to be taken against the pandemic, he called on the public to fulfil their part.
If people were to fulfil their responsibilities for 21 days then we would win our battle against this virus easily, said Pilli, reminding that especially those who come from abroad should self-isolate themselves until their test results come back.
He warned that legal action will be taken against those who do not comply with the rules.

If a vaccine is found in the coming days, maybe it will be developed by the end of the year. If a vaccine is found we will use it and hopefully we will be rid of COVID-19, said Pilli.
