International flights to resume August 29 in Nigeria
International flights will resume at the Lagos and Abuja airports from August 29, the Federal Government announce today.
Minister of Aviation Hadi Sirika said the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja would be the first airports to begin the flights.
Africa's most populous country shut its airspace in March to contain the spread of the virus that has so far infected 49,068 and claimed 975 lives.
According to him:
The decision came barely six weeks after the West African economic powerhouse resumed domestic flights.

Glad to announce the resumption of international flights from the 29th of August, 2020. Beginning with Lagos and Abuja as we did with the domestic flight resumption. Protocols and procedures will be announced in due course. We thank you for your patience.
