EMU Academic Staff Union wants quarantine reintroduced or else no face-to-face education

The Eastern Mediterranean University Academic Staff Union (EMU-SEN), has argued that it would not be possible to start face-to-face education without eliminating the risk of local contamination and called on the government to put the quarantined entry into effect again.

The union said, “Unfortunately, it will not be possible to start face-to-face training without eliminating the risk of local contamination. 

Universities are in a position to host their students in quarantine dormitories under the control of the Ministry of Health ”. 
 
EMU-SEN accused the government of “collapsing higher education” and said, “The daily number of cases is increasing due to unquarantined entries. Domestic transmission has also started to occur. "With this meaningless policy, both education and the economy of the country are being hit".

“IT WILL NOT BE FACE-TO-FACE EDUCATION, THERE WILL BE THE OBJECTIVES TO ACHIEVE ONLINE EDUCATION”

Both the government, EMU and other universities claim that face-to-face education will begin in September. We have to warn sadly that this will not be possible with current government policy. Under current conditions, it is not possible for universities to create a 'COVID-19 free campus'. In September, we will face the obligation to switch to online education, not face-to-face. The only way to train face to face is to restart the quarantine login application, eliminating the risk of local contamination. The country's higher education sector is being demolished for the sake of maintaining the structures of casinos that do not contribute significantly to the national economy.
