Drugs and cash found in home of drug dealer in Lefkosa

A suspected drug dealer identified as Rashad Salih Faraj, who was caught with weeds in Lefkosa has been and taken to court for trial. 

The suspect was arrested by the Directorate of Prevention of Narcotics and Smuggling at about 6:30pm on Tuesday in Hamitköy.

A search was carried out at his residence between 6:35pm and 7:15pm on court order after his arrest.

Police officer who testified in court said a substance believed to be a cannabis type drug weighing about 1 gram, wrapped in foil paper was found on the bedside table and a metal grinder believed to be the residue of the marijuana type drug were also found at his residence.

Other items found in his residence include cash of 26,500 TL, 50 pounds, 180 Euros, 100 dollars which are believed to be money obtained from the sale of drugs. They were seized for investigation purposes.

Police said the suspect gave a voluntary statement on the issue and confessed to his crimes.
