Two students caught on supermarket camera stealing customers phone and ID

Two foreigners studying in the TRNC were arrested and released on bail for stealing a mobile phone and ID card a customer forgot in a supermarket where they went to shop.

The incident happened at Kasgar supermarket in Girne where they went shopping. They were identified and arrested on Wednesday after supermarket officials detected the incident by security camera review.

The two accused who lives in a student dormitory in Girne reportedly took a Samsung brand mobile phone and an ID card a fellow customer forgot in the market.

Police said the items were recovered from them.

They were taken to a court in Girne where they were released on bail and banned from leaving the TRNC.

They will be tried in the future.
