Three new cases of coronavirus reported in TRNC on Tuesday, several people may have come in contact with them
Three new cases of coronavirus were identified in TRNC on Tuesday bringing the total number of the virus cases there to 138.
TRNC Health Minister, Ali Pilli in a briefing at the parliament earlier on Tuesday said two new cases of the virus has been detected in the country.
In a later announcement, the Minister said a third case was detected out of the 857 tests carried out in the last 24 hours.
All cases came to the TRNC by air.
Treatment for all cases have started while those who came in contact with them were placed on quarantine.
With the new cases, the total number of covid-19 reported in the TRNC is 30 since July, 1. This means there were 30 cases in 28 days.
News making the round on Tuesday said two of the cases, who live in Gönyeli and Yedikonuk tested positive for the virus. According to report, they came in contact with many people including health personnel.
One of those in question, an oncology patient arrived from Turkey last week with a double PCR test that was negative.
Four days later, the patient applied to the hospital complaining of several symptoms. A new test showed that he had coronavirus.
He is said to have come in contact with a large number of people during the period.
The other case is a staff of Gönyeli Municipality who traveled to Istanbul on July, 12, 2020 and returned to the TRNC on July, 20, 2020.
In a statement by Gönyeli Mayor, Ahmet Benli on Tuesday, the staff, a relevant personnel in the municipality, did a test which came out negative when he returned to the TRNC.
However, a second test came out positive.
