Student accused of stealing money from a wallet he found in a bar, sent to prison in Lefkosa
A student suspected of stealing money from a wallet he found in a bar in Lefkosa has been sent to prison for trial.
The suspect reportedly committed the crime between the hours of 2:30am and 3:00am on Monday, July, 20 in a bar at Osman Pasha Street in Lefkosa.
He was arrested and taken to a court in Lefkosa on Tuesday on charges of “theft by finding.”
According to police prosecutor in court, the suspect reportedly took a brown wallet belonging to one Mohamoud Abdi Jama. Police said the suspect took 300 dollars and 600 TL he found in the wallet.
Police said the suspect was detected as a result of security camera review and was arrested same day.
The court judge ordered the suspect to remain in detention for 3 days pending investigation.
