Employees at Ercan Airport to go on strike

KTAMS union which stands for the the rights of civil servants in the country announced that they are going on strike until their problems are solved. 

Workers at Ercan International Aiport will  go on strike due to infrastructure problem at their places of work .

The workers said that the reason for the strike is lack of access to toilets, sinks and clean water at the airport that puts them at risk to contract hygiene related diseases like typhoid and diarrhea.

KTAMS announced that it will go on strike for the physical infrastructure problem at the Civil Aviation Department at Ercan Airport and Fire Brigade Department.

The Aviation Department announced that there would be a strike for the physical infrastructure problem in the Square Operation Directorate and the Fire Brigade Department.

In a statement made by the Turkish Cypriot Public Administration Union, it was stated that some employees suffered from typhoid and bowel disease due to the absence of toilets, sinks and clean water.

It was reported from the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation that a strike would occur if the solution to their grievances is not reached until the end of July.
