32 year old woman killed in accident on the Kyrenia-Alsancak road due to drunk driver carelessness

A 32 year old woman has died in a road traffic accident on the Kyrenia-Alsancak road.

According to the police report, the incident happened at around 12:40am on Friday when, the driver of the vehicle, Altuğ Özçavdarlı, 30 lost control of the car which went off the road, struck a road barrier and overturned.

Both the driver and a female passenger Naile Garibova were taken to Dr Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Lefkosa but she died in the hospital, despite all efforts to save her while the driver remains under observation.

Police said the the driver was driving with three times the legal limit of alcohol in his blood.
