Zimbabwe politics: Thokozani Khupe's MDC takes over Harvest House
Armed police and soldiers on Thursday night forcefully invaded the MORGAN RICHARD TSVANGIRAI HOUSE offices in Harare, Zimbabwe which is currently the headquarters for MDC ALLIANCE which is being led by Mr. Nelson Chamisa and reports by ALLIANCE officials say the military and police helped Thokozani Khupe to occupy the office.
The MDC ALLIANCE youths who were at the office at the time the police arrived together with Khupe supporters said that they were forced to leave the premises last night
MR Douglas Mwonzora the Secretary-General for the KHUPE led MDC in April wrote a letter to police seeking an order to help them get the offices but they failed as they were turned away by Alliance officials because they no court order which permitted them to do so.
This follows a Supreme Court ruling on 30th March 2020 which ruled that Chamisa's presidency was unconstitutional and the party was ordered to hold an elective congress within three months to elect the new leader.
