One new coronavirus case recorded in north Cyprus
The TRNC on Monday recorded a new coronavirus positive case. The new case concerns a passenger who arrived in the TRNC from Turkey on Monday morning.
TRNC Health Minister, Ali Pilli made the announcement on Monday during the parliamentary session in response to media claims that a passenger who is Covid-19 positive has arrived in the TRNC.
He said a mother who arrived in the TRNC with her child from the Girne Port with a ship carrying 19 passengers has tested positive while her child tested negative.
He said the patient who had fever admitted that she came to the TRNC even when she knew she was coronavirus positive.
Pilli said the woman was hospitalized and those who came in contact with her placed in quarantine at the Büyük Anadolu Hotel.
Pilli said those who test positive for Covid-19 are placed in a separate section at the hospital adding that they would not have any contact with other patients.
Speaking on the issue, Minister of Public Works and Transport, Tolga Atakan said PCR test was not required since quarantine is mandatory for all current arrivals.
