Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), named best university in Cyprus in the category of physical sciences by Nature Index's 2020 ranking of universities

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Famagusta has been reported as the best university in Cyprus in the category of physical sciences by Nature Index's 2020 ranking of universities.

EMU Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, pointed out that the departments of Physics and Biological Sciences under the umbrella of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences were very important in the success achieved according to the statement made by EMU.  Dr.  Mehmet Ali Özarslan stated that 6 of the 8 high-level scientific articles published in prestigious academic journals were made by 6 members of the Physics Department and 2 of them by the Biological Sciences Department.

Professor  Dr.  Özarslan emphasized that the achievements of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences continue to increase every year and that these results are part of the strategic plan of the faculty and education, research and research studies continue without sacrificing quality.

Professor of Physics and Chemistry Departments, who stated that EMU Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Physics Department achieved the highest score and ranked first in the whole island.  Dr.  İzzet Sakallı underlined that the success achieved in particular reflects the mission and vision of the department and the faculty and EMU in particular.
