Cyprus Weather Today: Temperatures to reach 40 degrees

Monday will be mainly fine with temperatures reaching 40 C inland, 35 C in the east coast, 33 C in the south and north coasts, and 30 C in the west coast and the mountains.

The Met Department released a yellow alert for extremely high temperatures which is in force from 11 am until 5 pm today, warning that people who are the most vulnerable during these hours are the elderly and the very young.

At night, temperatures will edge down to 25 C inland, 23 C in the south and east coasts, 21 C in the north and west coasts and 18 C in the mountains.

Tuesday and Wednesday will be mainly fine.

Temperatures will remain around the same levels, which are above average for the time of year.
