Yellow Weather alert: Hot Saturday night and above normal temperature of 41c on Sunday
The Cyprus Met Office has issued a yellow weather alert for Saturday night and Sunday, the second in as many
days, warning of extreme high temperatures.
The new alert is in force from 10:00 pm on Saturday night to 5:00 pm on Sunday evening.
The warning said that the minimum temperature on Saturday night is expected to be around 27 C over the southeastern and eastern coasts and around 25 C over the west coast.
The maximum temperature expected on Sunday May, 17 will be around 41 C inland, around 37 C over the west and north coasts and around 32 C over the mountains.
The highest temperatures today reached 41c in Lefkosa/Nicosia 41.
