Student arrested for causing damage to cars and properties in Girne diagnosed with partial nervous disorder
A student who was arrested twice, first on April, 18 and then on April, 29 for deliberately damaging several vehicles and properties in Kyrenia has been brought back to court after spending nearly one month receiving treatment for psychological issue.
The accused was first arrested on April, 8 in Girne for destroying properties and belongings in a house and breaking the windscreen of five vehicles parked in the parking lot of the apartment resulting in damages worth 34,400 Turkish Lira. At the time, he was released on bail after appearing in court.
He was again arrested on Wednesday, April, 29 for committing a similar crime and breaking government curfew. This time he broke the windshield of a luxury vehicle and punched police vehicles parked in the parking lot of Girne Police Department.
Again, he was taken to a court in Lefkosa on Wednesday, April, 29 on charges of "intentional damage, inappropriate attitude and movement during curfew".
The court ordered that he be kept under the watch of a doctor at Peace Mental and Neurological Diseases Hospital.
He was then take to the hospital where he was diagnosed with partial nervous disorder. Since then he has been in the hospital until Monday, May, 18 when he was taken to court to face trial.
The court judge ordered that the suspect be kept under the control of a doctor for 10 more days at the same hospital until the next hearing.
