Six students caught in military zone trying to enter southern Cyprus illegally to remain in detention for 8 more days
Six students who were caught in a military zone while trying to enter southern Cyprus illegally in March are to remain in detention for another 8 days.
The suspects, BJ, NJ, OJA, VLN, FMN and VMC who were arrested for violating a military prohibited area on March 12 in Lefkosa.
They have been in detention since then and were taken to a court in Lefkosa on Wednesday.
At the time of their arrest in March, police said they were caught red-handed at 4:30am on March 12, 2020, while violating a military prohibited area in Hamitköy district of Lefkosa.
They had just arrived the island on study visa when they committed the crime.
Police said they are search for person who aided them.
The judge ordered that the suspects remain in detention for 8 days.
