3 migrants in south Cyprus clash with police, go on hunger strike
Three foreign nationals were arrested in migrants camp in Kokkinotrimithia, southern Cyprus on Wednesday for fighting with police.
According to Greek Cypriot police report, three men aged 26, 28 and 30 clashed with police at the Pournara reception center at about 9:30am on Wednesday but no one was injured.
The three men who had an altercation with police were arrested.
Police are investigating the case on charges of damaging property and common assault.
This follows a similar incident on Tuesday when migrants at the camp went on hunger strike in protest over overcrowding and poor living conditions for migrants and asylum seekers.
A report on the incident by Cyprus Mail on Tuesday, said "some people sat at the entrance of the food hall, preventing others from going inside on Tuesday.”
