Some people continue to violate curfew order in north Cyprus with 414 people arrested so far
People have continued to break the curfew order announced by the TRNC government to curb the spread of coronavirus in the country.
According to police report released on Monday, over 414 people were arrested for violating the curfew in the last eight days, with Lefkosa and Kyrenia being the towns with the highest number of offenders.
About 414 people in North Cyprus violated the curfew between 30 March and 6 April, the report said.
A total of 197 people broke the daytime partial curfew, 217 people violated the curfew after 21:00 at night and 6 people had opened for business.
Those found guilty were prosecuted with punishment raging from a fine of 10% of the minimum wage or one year imprisonment or both.
