Six new cases of Covid-19 and, one death in South Cyprus
Six new cases of Covid-19 and one causality was reported in southern Cyprus on Wednesday, bringing the total number of cases there to 790, including 10 in British Bases.
Wednesday’s new cases are a result of 1441 tests carried out. On Tuesday, Southern Cyprus health Ministry announced 12 new cases and 5 on Monday.
The causality concerns a 78-year-old man with underlying health conditions. His death brought the total number of deaths to 18. Of these 13 have been directly linked to coronavirus, nine men and four women.
The rest had Covid-19 when they died but it was not recorded as the direct cause of death. The average age of death is 70.
3 of the new cases were through tracing of the contacts of positive cases, one from hospital labs, one from private initiative, and one from Okypi (state health organisations) staff .
