Second coronavirus death reported in TRNC
A patient with a confirmed case of coronavirus has died in Northern Cyprus, bringing the total number of causality there to 2.
The causality is an 83 year old German tourist who died at the Lefkosa State Hospital on Wednesday morning, and the second coronavirus related death in the country.
The woman who had underlying health problems had been hospitalised on March 20 and taken to the intensive care unit on March 24.
The first coronavirus related death in the country is that of a 73 year old German tourist with an underlying health condition.
Both were part of a group of tourists that were all diagnosed with the virus, from the first day of their arrival.
A total of 70 people have tested positive for coronavirus in north Cyprus, of whom 31 are German tourists.
