One new death and 40 new cases of Covid-19 recorded in south Cyprus
One new coronavirus related death and 40 new confirmed cases were recorded in southern Cyprus on Friday.
The Cyprus Health Ministry made the announcement on Friday evening.
The causality concerns a man aged 64 with underlying health conditions, bringing the total number of death there to 11 and 13 islandwide with 2 from northern Cyprus.
29 among the 40 people who tested positive for coronavirus were people who came into contact with confirmed cases, two arrived from abroad and the backgrounds of the remaining nine cases are being investigated.
From the cases that were being investigated, 11 have been traced back to contacts and 10 are still being investigated.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases there to 396 (including ten in the British Bases).
