One death and 17 new cases of coronavirus in south Cyprus
17 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in south Cyprus on Sunday bringing the total number of cases there to 633.
10 of the new cases were identified through contact tracing of known cases, one from tests being carried out to test 20,000 people and six whose history is still being investigated.
The death concerns an 82-year-old woman who was being treated at the Famagusta referral hospital. She died on Saturday night. The patient had underlying health conditions but the final cause of death was determined as covid-19.
This brings the total number of the dead to 16, 11 of whom had Covid-19 as the final cause of death.
The 11 fatalities are seven men and four women with an average age 69 years.
