73 people arrested for not wearing mask and violating curfew in TRNC

A total of 73 people were arrested by Turkish Cypriot police in several parts of the country for violating curfew and not wearing masks.

The accused were arrested between Monday, April, 27 to Tuesday, April, 28 April 2020.

According to police press release, 18 of them were arrested for violating the partial daytime curfew between 6:00am to 9:00pm on Monday and 39 were arrested for violating the total lockdown in place between 9:00pm to 6:00am on Tuesday.

Also, 16 people were arrested for going out onto the streets without wearing masks, despite the new ruling to do so.

They will be investigated and prosecuted.
