32 new cases of coronavirus confirmed in south Cyprus
Thirty-two new cases of coronavirus were reported in southern Cyprus on Wednesday, bringing the total number of cases there to 526.
The Cyprus Health Ministry made the announcement on Wednesday.
Of the 32 new cases, 24 were identified via contact tracing. Eight are under investigation.
A total of 14,273 tests have been carried out so far in south Cyprus with 526 confirmed positive cases.
Of the 526 confirmed cases, 390 originated in Cyprus. A total of 52 people have been discharged from hospital.
The highest number of cases recorded so far on a single day was on April 1 when 58 Covid-19 infections were confirmed. Since then, there has been a steady decrease in the number of cases, but Wednesday’s number is a significant increase from previous days.
