A new case of Covid-19 confirmed in North Cyprus totaling 40
A new case of coronavirus was announced on Monday night in northern Cyprus, bringing the total number of cases there to
40.
According to TRNC Minister of Health, Ali Pilli, the new case concerns a Turkish Cypriot who had returned from the UK and had been self-isolating at home.
Of the 40 confirmed cases in northern Cyprus, 31 are German tourists, 8 Turkish Cypriots and one from Turkmenistan.
Pilli noted that 10 coronavirus patients are currently being treated in hospital of which seven of them are Turkish-Cypriots, two Germans and one Turkmen.
He added that 29 German tourists who had contracted the virus were cured and discharged.
The German tourists group departed to German on a chartered flight on Tuesday.
