20-year-old unhurt in a terrible accident on the Girne-Lefkosa highway
At least three people were injured in an accident along the Girne-Lefkosa highway on Monday when a car driven by a 20-year-old student hit another car and crashed unto a road side barrier.
The incident happened at about 10:30am on Monday when a saloon car in extreme speed driving towards the Lefkosa direction of the road lost control and collided with a car moving in the same direction of the road.
The car due to the impact of the collision hit the road side barrier. The driver of the car came out unhurt in the accident.
Three passengers in the other car including the driver were injured in the accident and taken to a hospital in Girne.
Traffic on the road was interrupted for some time due to the accident that blocked the high way.
Police arrived the scene and brought the situation under control.
According to police report, the driver of the car was reportedly high on alcohol and driving carelessly.
