Woman bit and burned her baby in a hot bath’ to punish child for crying
A woman allegedly bit her one-month-old baby’s face, punched her and scalded the infant’s bottom in hot water because she was "crying too much".
Lea Robinson was arrested in Tulsa, Oklahoma, after her daughter was treated for severe diaper rash and a bruised face at Saint Francis Hospital, say cops.
She was arrested on February 17 for “child abuse by injury”, according to the Tulsa County inmate information center.
Court documents said that a report alleging child abuse was lodged at hospital on October 1 last year after the baby was treated when she was just one month old.
A doctor noticed that the infant had a bite mark, which had resulted in bruising on her face.
Robinson allegedly admitted to a DHS worker that she had punched her baby because she couldn’t cope with her crying, the court documents add.
The mum also allegedly said that her girl was bathed in water that was scalding hot, resulting in burns on her bottom.
KTUL says that DHS officials and cops became suspicious as the mum allegedly changed her story many times about her baby’s injuries.
