Two men detained at Ercan airport in north Cyprus for carrying gold worth 90 thousand TL and 16 thousand dollars cash
90 thousand TL worth of gold and about 16 thousand dollars were detected in two luggage at Ercan Airport in North Cyprus at the weekend.
According to police report the items were found in bags belonging to two men, a 43-year-old man and a 29-year-old man at about 1:00pm on Saturday at the time of departure from the TRNC.
Items found in the two luggage include two gold jewelery worth 90 thousand TL and 16 thousand dollars.
The police launched legal proceedings against the persons in question, as they did not declare gold and cash to the competent authorities.
One of the man told the police that the gold belongs to his wife.
