Student jailed in Kyrenia for punching flatmate in the nose over dish washing
A 23-year-old student has been arrested and detained in Kyrenia, north Cyprus for breaking his flatmate's nose following an argument over dish washing.
Quarrel broke out among the flatmates at about 9pm on Friday in their apartment in Kyrenia over dish washing. One of them reportedly punched the other in the face during the fight and broke his nose.
He was arrested on Saturday and taken to a court in Kyrenia on charges of serious damage. The accused told the court that the victim swore at his mother which resulted in the fight."
He was detained for two days on court order pending investigation.
Police said it will determine his student status in the country and apply appropriate punishment if found guilty.
