Foreigner arrested in border between north and south Cyprus for using falsified passport
A foreigner who tried to cross over from north Cyprus to south Cyprus has been detained for impersonation.
The accused identified only as N.O.H was caught at about 5:30PM on Saturday, January, 25 in Lefkosa/Nicosia while trying to enter south Cyprus with an identity card belonging to someone else.
She was brought before a court in Lefkosa on Sunday on charges of impersonation and providing of false document.
Police prosecutor told the court that the accused gave an international passport registered in the name of 'Munira Mohamed Yusuf Ahmed' to the immigrant officer in charge in which her photo was imposed on someone else's identity.
The suspect admitted that she had bought the subject passport for five thousand Euros to travel to Germany from a person in south Cyprus.
She was ordered to be detained for two days for investigation to be carried out on the matter.
