Woman pay ex-husband’s divorce fees with $11,000 in coins

When Brandi Lee caught her spouse doing the dirty with a friend, she was devastated — but she had the last laugh with a “genius” stunt. 

A woman who was forced to pay her cheating husband thousands of dollars in fees has had the ultimate petty revenge.

The saga began when US woman Brandi Lee discovered her unnamed husband’s affair, and filed for divorce as a result.

However, the court ultimately ordered her to pay him a settlement of $US7500.

While she had no choice but to pay the sum, Ms Lee decided to make the payment as inconvenient as possible — by paying her husband completely in “dimes”, or ten-cent coins.

She explained on Facebook that she had paid him using 10 boxes filled with the coins weighing 158kg.

So a man that I was married to, bless his heart, decided to do me the biggest favour of my life and slept with his own FRIEND’S wife, she wrote on the social media platform, according to The Sun.

The woman who attended my WEDDING and watched me hold hands and look into the eyes of the man I loved and promise him my forever all while knowing damn well they were sleeping together!

Well I busted ‘em and that led us into divorce court, and for some god awful reason, I was ordered to pay HIM $7,500.

Ms Lee said the court-ordered fee “is what it is” but that she was determined to make life as difficult as possible for her ex.

The court order, and I quote, says I have to pay him ‘the sum of $7500’. That’s it. It does not say how, the mother-of-two said.

I went to our local bank, told them my story and you guessed it, those beautiful little ladies at our bank were more than happy to not only assist but to support me in my payment plan.

Ms Lee — who has also shared photos of herself wearing a T-shirt bearing the words “divorced AF” — received an outpouring of praise from other social media users who called her revenge an act of “genius”.

The story comes just months after a similar bizarre stunt involving an estranged couple also went viral.

In March this year, 82-year-old US billionaire property mogul Harry Macklowe took a brutal swipe at his ex-wife Linda Macklowe, 80, — who he was married to for 58 years — after he wed his younger French mistress, Patricia Landeau.

The Macklowes had been embroiled in a bitter legal battle for several years, and their separation became known as the “$2 billion divorce” after Mr Macklowe famously joked about offering his ex half of his staggering $2.6 billion wealth to leave him alone.

But after Mr Macklowe finally married his long-term girlfriend Ms Landeau, he celebrated by plastering a giant, 12m by 7m black and white photo of the happy couple on one of his New York buildings that could be seen far and wide.

According to the New York Post, his ex-wife lives just a short stroll away from where the unmissable poster was hung.

The story made headlines around the world, with many comparing the poster stunt as a “big middle finger” to Mr Macklowe’s ex.
