Two arrested at border crossing for trying to enter south Cyprus illegally

Two foreigners who tried to cross from north to south Cyprus illegally were sent to jail by a Lefkosa court on Friday.

The two accused who were identified only as O.I.M and D.N.M reportedly tried to cross over to south Cyprus at about 7:00pm on Wednesday, November, 6 without permission. They were caught and arrested in the process.

They were taken to a court in Lefkosa on Friday where they confessed to trying to cross over to south Cyprus illegally. 

The accused told the police that one of the persons helping them had left the area with two others.

The court ordered that they remain in detention for 6 days for investigation to be carried out on the suspects.
