A flight passenger en-route to south Cyprus from the US landed in Paphos airport in south Cyprus but her luggage surprisingly landed at Ercan airport in north Cyprus.
The woman, a Greek Cypriot identified as Paola Haciyoannu whose flight transited in Berlin and Budapest using three different flights, namely United Airlines, Easy Jet and Ryanair aircraft was on her return to south Cyprus after her holiday in the US.
After landing at the Paphos airport in south Cyprus last week, she realized that her baggage did not arrive with her.
She contacted EasyJet and found out that her luggage was mixed up at the Berlin airport.
She requested that the luggage be sent to one of Paphos or Larnaca airports in south Cyprus with one of the company’s next flights to the island but unfortunately, that was not the case.
On Monday, she was called on telephone with a Turkish network, and was told that her luggage had arrived Ercan airport in north Cyprus.
She was told that her baggage came from Berlin to Istanbul and from there to Ercan Airport.
The woman said she was surprised that a private airline like EasyJet connected to the south of Cyprus would do this.
